There is no quiz: is calculated from your date, time and place of birth. So if you were looking for a free Human Design test, here is the good news: nothing to tick, no score, and you do not even need an account to see your result. Fill in the Body Graph calculator, then read on so you know what to look at.
No questionnaire: your Type is calculated
Human Design does not rely on how you see yourself. It starts from your birth. The site’s engine works out where the Sun, the Moon and the planets were at that moment, then again at a second moment, about three months earlier: that is the Design side of your chart, shown in red on the drawing.
Each of those positions falls into one of the 64 . When both gates of a channel are activated, the channel is complete and colours in the two centres it connects. is then read from those coloured centres. Is your defined? Is a connected to your Throat? Or is no centre defined at all?
So nobody picks , not even you. The article How to recognise your Type just by looking at your Body Graph shows you how to find it on the drawing yourself.
The three details you actually need
The form on the home page asks for three things, plus a name if you want to add one.

- Your date of birth, meaning the day, month and year.
- Your time of birth, to the minute if you know it. It matters because the Moon changes gate in less than half a day, and the Sun changes line in less than a day.
- Your place of birth, picked from the list of cities. It sets the time zone, without which your local time would be converted wrongly. If you leave it empty, the calculation uses Paris.
The name is only there to label your chart. Then click “Create my for free”: no account is needed to see the result. And if you would rather see what a chart looks like first, the “Generate a sample Body Graph” link, just below the button, calculates one at random.
What you see for free, in plain English, with explanations
Your appears straight away, and right below it sits a row of five key points: , Profile, Authority, Definition and . On the chart of Édith Piaf, a public profile from our gallery, that row reads Manifesting Generator, Profile 4/6, Emotional Authority and a Small Split Definition.

Without an account, the “Overview” tab is already open, and it talks about your chart. It starts by explaining what a is, then describes you in a few sentences: and Profile, the Authority your best decisions come through, , with how many of your centres are defined and open, your , and the feeling that tells you whether you are following your design or drifting away from it. Human Design terms underlined with dots explain themselves in one click. Everything is in English, and the site is also available in French, German, Spanish and Italian.
Now click in the row under the graph: the “Type” tab opens. Without an account, it explains what a Type is and invites you to create a free account. With a free account, you read your Type, its description and there in a short version, and the Profile, Authority and Definition tabs open the same way. That account also lets you save your Body Graphs and open the pages on the 5 Types. The detailed version, and other tabs such as “Centres”, come with the Essentiel plan.
What a calculation changes compared with a questionnaire
A personality test starts from what you report about yourself: it is a different tool, answering a different question. A calculation changes three things.
- Your answers play no part. Neither your mood that day nor the way you see yourself: you cannot nudge the result towards the Type you like best.
- The result can be repeated exactly. Same details, same chart, whether you calculate it tonight or next year.
- The calculation can be checked. We recalculated Édith Piaf’s chart with the site’s engine: it comes out identical to the one on her profile, channel for channel.
What the calculation does not do: it does not tell you who you should be, and it predicts nothing. It describes a mechanism, which you then observe in your everyday life. To see where the system comes from, start with What is Human Design?
You can start that observation right away. The not-self test starts from your calculated chart: it asks you one question for each , with no score, then suggests one thing to watch for seven days. It is not a questionnaire to find , which stays the one the calculation gives: it is what comes next.
What if you don’t know your birth time?
Don’t fall back on a quiz. Calculate your chart with 12:00 noon: across 1,500 births drawn at random, we measured that the Type calculated at noon is still the right one nearly 9 times out of 10. , on the other hand, needs confirming.
To find out more about your own day, click “I am not sure of my birth time”, just below the place field. Without an account, a panel recalculates your chart across the range of times you are unsure about and shows the exact time at which a key point changes. The same tool has its own page, to come back to at your own pace: the birth time calculator. The article Don’t know your birth time? goes through what holds, what shifts, and where to track down your time.
Worth keeping: a Human Design test asks no questions. Your date, time and place of birth are all the calculation needs, with no account, and the “Overview” tab explains your chart in plain English. A free account then opens the short version of , Profile, Authority and Definition tabs.
